Broody Hens and Racing Hounds

It's been an exciting week here in the Renaissance household
with the addition of retired greyhound,
Jake ,
who is proving to be a real gentleman

and our little hen Bramble going broody.

With the best will in the world she was never going to be a mother
as we don't have a cockeril.
So we've purchased some, hopefully, fertile bantam eggs from ebay
and we're waiting patiently.
We will of course keep you posted on the results.

  1. I used to work with someone who always had a couple of retired greyhounds, which are lovely dogs and make great pets.
Good luck with the chicken eggs! xx

  2. What a handsome dog he is and I'm sure he will be a great asset to your household.

I loved the photos on a previous post of the Blackbird being fed and also the photos of flowers from your grandmother's garden, beautiful blooms and lovely memories for you. The woodland flowers were just lovely!

  7. Congratulations on your new greyhound! My mum has a retired greyhound, and he's just the sweetest boy ever. I'd love to have one too, but G doesn't think our flat is big enough... K x
